Heatwave measures - optional early collection

Dear parents / carers,

Due to the climbing temperatures and classrooms becoming uncomfortable for the children, we are offering an early collection this afternoon.

If collecting early, due to the late notice today, parents can collect from the front office between now and 3pm. If collecting after 3pm, collection will be from the pedestrian gate by Y5 as usual.

We ask that parents wait outside the main doors for their child to be brought out, to avoid the main entrance becoming over crowded.

Be please mindful of the guidance in place for keeping safe and cool during the heatwave - if children are taken home early, they should remain indoors and out of the sun once home, especially during the hottest parts of the day.

For tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday, due to the forecast being even hotter, we will be offering an optional early collection at 1.15pm for those parents who wish to take their children home before the heat peaks. If not collecting at 1.15pm, collection will be at 3.15pm as normal.

After school club childcare will still be open both days at this time. However, if parents are able to collect earlier than usual this would be appreciated.

After school activity clubs are cancelled for this week. If this presents an issue with collecting your child today, they will be put into Omega club instead.

We will monitor the forecast for Friday and inform parents of any changes to collection if necessary. As things stand, we anticipate the day being back to normal.
