Heatwave Measures

With the hot weather forecast this week, children have the option of wearing their Active Uniform (PE kit) to school OR their summer uniform, if parents feel shorts and sports top will be more comfortable for them.

To help them keep safe in the sun;

ALL children need to bring a sunhat and water bottle to school each day and sun cream should be applied before school in the morning.

In school, we will be taking appropriate measures as per our heatwave risk assessment, such as avoiding outdoor exposure during the hottest parts of the day and keeping blinds closed when the temperature rises. Fans will be on during the first part of the morning and windows and doors will be open to let cooler air in. Once the temperature increases, the fans will be turned off and windows and doors closed to limit the hot air coming in! Lessons and activities will be adapted as appropriate to keep the children as cool as possible.

Advice on staying safe and keeping cool can be found here -
